So I have wanted a zenfone 2 since it was first announced and i had always wanted to 5.5" 1080p with 2gb of ram model, when now they have finalized the versions and the "mid range" model now only has a 720p 5.5" with 2gb of ram and the intel atom.

So i was wondering, how are 720p 5.5" phones, the ppi is about 200, about twice my monitor so i wanted to hear some opinions.

everyone loved the galaxy s2 which was around 217ppi so 720p 5.5in is what i consider the best.
if you're going to game on your phone for instance 9whcih i personally beleive to be largely a bad idea) i think most poeple would rather have 60fps 720p than 30fps 1080p which on a screen even as small/big as 5.5in wont make a difference, but the smaller res can mean more fps, or less battery drain because a lower power gpu can be used etc etc etc...

Nope. Look at an S3 which is ~300PPI then an S4 which is ~440PPI. There is definitely a more then noticeable difference.

The numbers may be incorrect but i'm pretty sure it's something like that

You are also forgetting the contrast ratio and how bright the screen is, obviously my figure was wrong (wasn't the most reliable source I admit) but there comes a point where our eyes can't see any better (much like we can only see 60fps)

There is much less of a perceivable difference between pixel density ranges but I can still notice it. Personally, I do notice the difference between 430 PPI and 530 PPI (my HTC M8 vs my brother's LG G3). I do see that next and high-res images look sharper on the G3, but at the sacrifice of how ugly the colors on the G3 look (which is why I chose the M8). However this proves to me from personal experience that ~320PPI is definitely NOT the limit of the eye (apple stfu), and we can see much higher then that. I definitely prefer 1080p over 720p, but 1440p is, meh. Not worth the performance and battery life deficit.

As for refresh rate, of course we can see over 60FPS. Who told you we couldn't? If we couldn't then CS:GO players wouldn't be loving all the 144Hz panels out there.

We could see more than 60 FPS and more than 300ppi..the eye can't be measured its not a computer
