Crossfire core clock issues

Hey everyone, ive just started noticing recently that whenever im in a game or benchmark, my second video cards core clock speed dips down. I've seen it go as low as 500 MHz. I've attached a snip of Msi afterburner after running unigine heaven for a few minutes. any ideas whats going on? I have two Gigabyte Windforce 7950's.

It doesn't look like thermal throttling. 
Try removing one card at a time and testing each alone, and see if either one drops to 500Mhz.

you can disable ULPS aka Ultra Low Power State

ULPS is already disabled, one thing that i noticed is when i up the power limit anywhere from +10-+20 percent, the core clock doesn't dip down any more, but the card gets up to 90 degrees.

Hey guys, I just removed each card and tested them individually on heaven benchmark, here are the results!

And here are what the charts say on MSI afterburner. Note the pretty drastic tempature difference.

It's what i expected.

Try the latest beta Driver.  XFire is so bad; It caused DPC Latency spikes for me.

Wouldn't it not be related to crossfire or drivers if I was testing each card all alone on my system? The fact that the gpu that's acting up is also running 14 degrees hotter than the other is making me wonder if it's a mechanical problem.

The core clock looks normal in the above picture though....

GPU2 core clock fluctuates up and down where as GPU1 stays at a constant 1000 MHz

prob overheating GPU

 

force the GPU to run MAX and watch the temps

 

if it still creeps up

 

RMA the hot GPU
