none of the filters are selected ther are all blank

I have no clue then, all I suggest is that you use this site http://www.serverbrowser.com/to get the IP, then in the game's console type "connect  server_IP*

did not work

could you... expand on that? I'm failing to see how it wouldn't work?

did you type it in the console correctly? As in:

connect 192.223.26.74:27015

Or maybe try clicking the small connect.png Icon next to the server's IP on http://www.serverbrowser.com/That might work if you're unable to get the console code to work.

Other than that I have no clue what is wrong with your game... unless, and I'm not accusing you of anything, if you are using a pirated version of the game it would be highly likely that the pirated version you downloaded doesn't come with a legitimate server list, e.i at the time of the creation of the pirated version they put a server list with many different server that don't have VAC enabled, ideal for people to join who don't play with the legitimate game, and easier to get away with pirating the game, but over time these servers were either shut down by Valve, or were simple deleted by the admin because they didn't give them enough revenue...

Anyway, long story short, I don't know anyway for you to solve this issue other than what I have already told you.

The only thing I can think of is your DNS settings maybe blocking the server. Trying going to control panel > network and internet > Network and sharing center > (on the left) change adapter settings > right click your internet input > properties > in the small list find "Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)" and left click on it once, then click "properties" > Now make sure "Use the following DNS server addresses" > and in the Preferred DNS server put: 8.8.8.8 > in the alternate DNS server put: 8.8.4.4 (these are Google's DNS addresses so they are completely safe to use) > now check "validate settings upon exit" > and click "OK" and exit.

Next, you'll see you're network will reconnect, now restart your game and try and find the internet game servers.
