First build

Hi,

I'm looking to build a budget pc as this will be my first time doing this.

 

 

Parts I plan on using:

AMD Athlon X4 860K

BioStar A58MD

Adata XPG V1.0 OC 1600mhz 4gbx2

EVGA 500 watt psu

Segate 1tb sshd

Zotac GTX 750 ti

Deepcool Case

 

I was hoping someone could tell me if this build is garbage or not and whether or not I can upgrade the gpu later on perhaps to a gtx 970 without the cpu being a major bottleneck.

CPU isn't the best, could be replaced with a i5 so you have a better upgrade path and minimal bottlenecking with high-end cards. My FX-8350 struggled handling a damn R9 290

I'm looking for a low cost place to start. I'm not looking to do any more than 1080p. Would a 280x be a good place to upgrade to?

The core i3 4160 is a better value for his budget the i5 is overkill at this price. And get the r9 270 instead of the 750 it preforms better.

My only issue is that games like Far Cry 4 and Assassin's Creed Unity I believe won't run at all with a dual core cpu.

Change the cpu to i3 or if possible i5

Seriously? It just runs? Then yeah I'll just go with the i3 and move up later on. Thanks so much.

 

Edit: Would the Asus-H81ME motherboard be a good choice with an i3 with the ability to upgrade later on?
