CPU cooler into RAM issue

Hey everyone, I recently built my own PC, I am 16 and I came across this issue earlier but I chose to ignore it because I didn't really take it seriously.

My CPU cooler (cooler master 212 evo) is vertically mounted and it is parallel to the RAM which is 8 GB (4GB x 2) and 1 stick is in the 1st slot and the other one is in the 2nd slot. The cpu fan is not going all the way down (keep in mind my computer has been set up already) and I was wondering whether if I could take the RAM stick in the 1st slot and move it to the fourth slot (MOBO: MSI 970 Gaming). I just wanted to ask so I knew what I will do is not going to screw anything up as I am a relatively new PC builder.

Umm... You should place the stick in either 1st and 3rd slot or 2nd and 4th slot so they work in dual channel mode. Otherwise theyre working in single channel mode. Its actually advised that you move the stick from the first slot and put it into the 4th one.
