2*4gb ram with 1*8gb ram

Im currently using wayyy to much RAM on my rig, so im looking to get another 8gb. Case is i found an offer for 1*8gb stick with the same specs (except size) as my current RAM (Corsair LP) 

My MOBO is an Asus Maximus VI Formula.

 

Would it work? The offer is as cheap as 4gb stick so it would leave a possibility for another stick in the future.

 It works, but would run all of the modules in single channel.
