Hoping somebody can help me with a quick question. I am trying to get mhddfs set up on my Ubuntu Server but was wondering if it is possible for part of the boot drive to be a part of the new virtual file system or if you can only join drives that are separate from the boot drive?

@MG2R Don't suppose you would be able to help?

Can't claim I'm an expert on bootloaders and the /boot-partition, but I can't recall a moment where I saw /boot not on a seperate, standard partition. So my advice would be to just put it on a separate partition.

May I ask what brings you to using mhddfs vs. LVM?

I've been having a play around and I have solved my dilemma, turns out you can easily mount any directory on the drive it doesn't have to be the base directory.

In regards to why mhddfs, mainly I wanted a quick way of grouping drives without RAID and mhddfs is so simple to set up I thought I would give it a go. Admittedly I haven't tried LVM yet, I will have a deeper look at some point.
