First off... I am looking to put either put a new pump top on my pump, or just buy a new one.  and I am also looking to buy a biocide to put in my loop to go along with my silver kill coil.

for a biocide, I am looking at this - http://www.performance-pcs.com/mayhems-biocide-extreme.html

as for a pump, this is the one I currently have - http://www.frozencpu.com/products/2128/ex-pmp-27/Swiftech_MCP655-B_12v_Water_Pump_w_38_Conversion_Kit_317_GPH.html?tl=g30c107s1802#blank

Now what I think would be optimal, is to be able to put my current res directly attached to my pump... I have the FrozenQ Liquid Fusion right now - http://www.frozencpu.com/products/25523/ex-res-853/FrozenQ_LF_Reaction_250mm_Cylinder_Reservoir_-_Black_Cap_-_UV_Blue_Helix.html

I doubt that it would be possible, but that would be optimal... Now since that is almost impossible, this is the pump top I was looking at.  http://www.performance-pcs.com/ek-xtop-d5-acetal-original-csq.html

I don't really have a budget on this, so if there are better alternatives please let me know, this is new territory for me.

It's definitely possible I have my res mounted directly to my pump and it works fine you just need to get hold of a double g1/4 threaded fitting.

Well with the pump top... Doesn't the inlet have to be the one that is on the front facing side in the center?  therefore I couldn't connect my res directly to it unless the res was sideways.

do not combine a biocide with a silver kill coil. can harm the plating (if used) and

reduce the coolant effectiveness.

using the bitspower fitting or custom connection for the pump top to res hookup:

Okay so take out my kill coil when I drain my loop to put the new parts in?

On some pump tops there are 2 inlets and 2 outlets on the pump top. I use an alphacool HF top on my D5 and I have 2 of each.

even the HF looks to only have one inlet...Idealy I'd need an inlet on the top

It doesn't it has once in the center and one of the top, I've taken a pic of the instructions to give you a better idea.

wow... I wonder if there are any others like that... I'll have to keep that in mind... I might as well buy some angled fittings as well...This feels like picking parts for my original loop all over again!

Here's my pump res and how its mounted hopefully it will help you.

So your pump is mounted vertically?

Yep it was the best way to mount it in my case and because it doesn't touch anything except the reservoir there's no vibration which D5's cause a lot of.

another mindful item is using the pump top, the fitting bung in the middle is the

best feed position. using other inlets can cause bleeding issues, noises, and

dry run. just some FYI.

yeah I realize that now, the outlets don't matter though right?
