Look up hold times in the cx psu

look up ripple supression in the psus

look up the manufacturer in the psu

The capacitors are made from the cheapest CapXon. Basically the worst you can put in a PSU without it blowing up after plugging it in

I think they are ok for office PCs but for gaming rigs they are garbage. Corsair makes good PSUs aside from their cx series. I do not hate Corsair for any reason but their cx series PSUs are garbage. They arent even made by them, simply rebranded

When i search for the hold times and ripple supressions there is only 1 reputable site that appears but no others. Please feel free to provide valid information on what you are saying. Any one can make accusations like you are doing. If you don't want to provide an valid information please feel free to take your business elsewhere..

A lot of manufacturers rebrand PSUs made by others. the CX series is made by Seasonic and Channel Well (CWT)

That has all the benchmarks for the cx PSU

Besides, why dont you give evidence that it is a good PSU? Why should I have to prove it is bad? Show me which parts of the PSU are good quality? 80+ bronze doesnt mean twat. Ive seen sketchy PSU manufacturers rate their own PSUs 80+ Bronze

This is my first time that I would be building a computer since I've only used store bought ones. What I'm looking for in this computer is to be able to handle multiple tasks at the same time as well as play games. I am not a heavy gamer but I do like to play games like Civilization V, Garry's Mod, and Mount & Blade Warband while I listen to music on ITunes. I also have a price range from $600 - $800. Here is the link to the parts that I was recommened: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/GW6wZL

Looking at the link you have provided, TechPowerUp provides the CX series PSUs with a good rating and it has more good points than bad. So if the website you have linked says its good for a budget build such as the OPs budget then it can be recommended

  • Affordable
  • Good price/performance ratio
  • Delivered full power at 45°C
  • High efficiency at low- and typical loads
  • Good ripple suppression
  • Within 3% voltage regulation on all rails
  • Fairly quiet operation
  • All modular cables are flat and stealth (along with the second native one)
thumbdown.gif
  • 3.3V rail's performance in Advanced Transient Response tests
  • Really low hold-up time (too small of a bulk capacitor)
  • Only two PCIe connectors
  • Would like it to have higher quality capacitors in the secondary side
8.3 Corsair took a mainstream CWT platform and managed to deliver a good product for a nice price after making a couple modifications. The new CX600M surely isn't a top performer, but making it one was not Corsair's initial purpose. They were, instead, looking to offer the best possible price/performance ratio, so some compromises had to be made. Although the maximum temperature at which the unit can deliver its full continuous power is restricted to only 30°C, all of my test sessions went smoothly at a considerably higher ambient, but the CapXon caps on the secondary side most likely won't keep their good performance if they work at above 40°C constantly, which I suspect to be the reason behind Corsair's conservative temperature range, at least for full continuous power output. The strongest advantage of the CX600M is, without any doubt, that it is affordable given its performance and the modular cabling design it utilizes. Its biggest drawbacks, on the other hand, are that it only has two PCIe connectors, which greatly restricts the unit's usability, and its very low hold-up time, which is the result of the small bulk capacitor. Corsair apparently preferred using a Japanese capacitor with a smaller capacity in the APFC instead of a higher capacity Taiwanese one. They may be right, since Japanese caps tend to last much longer, but a hold-up time below 10 ms with a limit of 16 ms as specified by the ATX spec doesn't look good at all.

To wrap up, the CX600M offers good performance, modular cables that are flat and stealth, and is backed up by Corsair's excellent support. The CX600M is, if you can live with only having two PCIe connectors, a very good deal, as clearly shown on our performance-per-dollar graph. Based on the latter, I give to this unit our budget award.   budget.gif

I like this one, but I would go with a cheaper keyboard and up the GPU a bit.

I would have put in a bigger GPU like a 280x or better if the OP and more budget room.

What Keyboard would you suggest? I have only suggested it because my last keyboard was the Gigabyte Aivia K8100 V2 which i found was good for gaming

(If i sound rude in this post I apologize)

EDIT: I changed the gpu o a 280x and the Keyboard

Look at the data and not their opinion, The ripple supression is not good and is mediocre at best. The cheap capacitors really destroy the PSU.

The problem is that there are so many better options out there. Seasonic makes better PSUs at a similar price and so does Cooler Master
