Wrong RAM Speed

Go to solution Solved by Rooah,

Did you select the xmp profile in BIOS or did you just bump it to 1600 MHz?

So I just realized that my ram speed isn't 1600mhz as it should be, instead its 667mhz. I looked around a bit and it says that that speed is for 1 channel, i have dual - channel so 667x2 is 1334. How can i run it at full speed at 1600. I have corsair vengeance 2x4 1600. I also tried to put it to 1600 in bios, but then it just fails to boot.

Didn't know i had to do that, anyways i did it and on cpuz it shows correct speed, but on task manager its still 667. Should i just leave it like that or what?

I would probably trust CPU-Z

Can you post a screenshot?

Also are you running AMD or Intel?

Everything looks good to me. I think windows 8.1 just has issues reporting the correct RAM speed.
