Editing Build Suggestions

Hey I'm interested in building a new computer mostly for photo and video editing with Adobe CS6 products. I also would like to be able to do a little bit of gaming too. I have a budget of around $700 and I've been researching a lot of stuff so I have an idea of what I think I want but I've never done this before so any advice on what I should be looking at would be appreciated.

If you only do a little gaming you should probably get an AMD processor

I have a PS4 so that's where I'll do most of my gaming but I just want the ability to do a little bit since I'll be getting a fairly decent computer. The gaming part isn't really a major concern.

I have heard, and I'm not sure if this is true or not, that Intel processors preform better with Adobe software compared to AMD products

Im not sure but intel might perform a little better but at your budget you should look more into a high end AMD product. Unless you are ok with integrated graphics. You may be able to get by with intel integrated graphics on an i7 and save a ton by not getting a dedicated GPU

If you know a thing or two about overclocking (which I don't) then it may be worth building a system that you know you can get a little more out of for your money.

 

Also, I would say if you are not aesthetics mad, then get a cheaper case and get a better something else that makes a performance difference, like processor or graphics card.

Is integrated graphics really an option? I know editing software draws mostly from the cpu but does it make sense to forgo a graphics cards completely?

I've read about overclocking but being my first build, its not really something I want to try yet. Thanks for the advice
