So in the near future, when I'm going to SLI my 960's, and hopefully DX12 will be out, is it going to be worth it to opt for a 4GB version or just stay with a 2GB version, which is what I have now. I understand that with DX11, The left over 2GB on the 4GB 960 would never get used, as it only copies it onto the other card. But with DX12, will that change with the promises of stackable VRAM and such?

Sorry I am a bit confusing:

SLI: Two 2GB 960s

SLI: One 2GB and One 4GB, even though the full 4GB's on the second would never get used

CPU: G3258 @ 4GHz GPU: Gigabyte GTX 960 OC RAM: 8GB G.Skill DDR3 1600 SSD: Corsair LS 120GB Case: Antec GX500 Mouse: Logitech G402 Keyboard: Razer Blackwidow Headphones: Shure SRH440 Microphone: That Zalman Zm-Mic1 that everyone recommends but noone uses

Remember when the R9 280 was the HD 7950? Pepperidge Farm remembers.

DX12 will give developers the option to enable vram stacking, it is all in the air as to how well devs will be able to do this.

Also to SLI, GPU's that are being SLI'ed must have the exact same specs so you can't SLI 2gb 960's with 4gb 960's, and vise verse, Only 2; 2GB 960's and 2 4GB 960's can be SLI'ed.

You can SLI them, its just it will only use the VRAM of the card that has the lowest. My question was if DX12 will allow otherwise :)

Either way most of this is speculation at the moment. Wait until the open Beta is available and then we can discuss it.

I got a question, how does your i7 920 hold up? Is it bottlenecking/lacking at all or still going strong?

Going great mate, getting 60+ Full ultra in most AAA Titles. Only issue is when you play heavily CPU intensive games like WoW but I still get 60+ there but it could be higher. I've also OC'ed mine to 1553 MHz.
