I would appreciate it if you guys would help with my first build it that would be really awesome. Note: i would like to stay under $750, please only suggest upgrades if they can help with graphics or computing performance in games or rendering. i know this isnt quite good enough for GTA 5 or Crysis, but im mostly planning on doing Battle Feild Hardline, Trine 2, and warface. maybe some after effects but very light. i also want to stick to a standard looking case. the gtx 770 is used, but i have conformation that it is in perfect condition.

An R9 280x would perform way better for around the pricepoint of the Nvidia one

I also locked it to Newegg and Amazon. There are some other sites on there that really shaft you with shipping when it comes time to buy your components.

Is the used 770 $200? Because if so then that's way too expensive. Also EVGA B1 isn't great, get the B2 instead.

Even if it's in perfect condition 770 is still overpriced, 200 is what it should have been in the first place.

$22 more for brand new and even better performance: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/sapphire-video-card-100363vx3l

Slightly less performance but $35 less, and again brand new: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/sapphire-video-card-100373l

From what I can see, at 1080p, the 770 is averaging about 4fps better than a R9-285. So if you prefer New, the R9-285 is great for the price. If you can get a 770 in good condition for around the same price go for it.

Now I only suggest the 285 over the 280 because the 285 supports AMD's latest features and the 280/280x do not. As you can see here the 280 and 285 perform similarly. A 280x or the 770 you are looking at would be better options. The 280x's price has blown up lately so getting a 770 for $200 sounds pretty damn good to me.

Unless OP needs FreeSync, 280/280X are a better choice to keep for a while as future games will start to hit the 2GB frame buffer limit.

Believe it or not, especially for MMO's, I've found VSR to be an invaluable feature. Now, you can make something like this happen with a simple registry tweak, but I'd still take the 285 for 1080p gaming at it's current price over the 280. If you can catch the 280x on a sale like last week(Sapphire 280x Tri-X $219.99) I'd say do not hesitate. Grab it before it shoots back up like they have as of right now.
