Is the RAM a good match for the rest of the parts and if not, what is a good match (I'm looking for 16GB total, preferably in 4x4 sticks).

If the mobo has quad channel dim slots then go with 4x4 but if it's dual channel then go with 2x8.

Yeah, Intel build (CPU and Motherboard) usually support 1600Mhz. If you're talking about AMD, they can go above that like 1866Mhz, ...

Yes, they are good match and it also have 9 CAS (Latency) which is good.

You don't have to fill all the RAM Slots, so if it has 4 slots it doesn't have to be filled all the way you can put 2x4 and you can leave the 2 slots for upgrade.

I'm only saying it because it gives the best performance

I plan to fill two slots initially with 8GB and then upgrade in the future o 16GB

Yes, but leaving it for upgrade purpose is also nice right?

Leaving the space is fine but just won't be the best. It won't really matter too much

True, but the performance benefit apparently is so small that I'd personally sacrifice it for better future expandability (if the plan is not to max out the board right now).

plus seems like 1866 modules are the optimal choice for haswell right now:

http://www.anandtech.com/show/7364/memory-scaling-on-haswell/10

(5% performance increase over 1600Mhz module and they cost the same basically...)
