If you install it and can't see it in your explorer, head over to disk management and assign a drive letter to it or mark the drive as online.

If you want to use the old hard drive as your O.S drive and don't wsh to reinstall, it will most likely not work. Sometimes it does, but usually it doesn't. Regardless, back it up before you try. If you want to use it as storage, back up the drive, format it as NTFS in disc management, and put it in the new computer.

Make life rue the day it thought it could give Cave Johnson lemons! Do you know who I am? I’m the man who’s gonna burn your house down! With the lemons! I’m gonna get my engineers to invent a combustible lemon that burns your house down!”

Hey Dreamplay,

Moving drives between computers is usually an easy task to do. If you don't need the OS on the drive, you can simply format the partition with the OS on. This is easily done when you plug the drive to your new computer and start installing the new OS. The installer gives you the option to delete and format one or more partitions on the drive.
You could also do this by connecting the drive to an already working computer and format one or more partitions from Disk Management.

Do have in mind that formatting will erase everything on the partition so if you want to save some of the data on there, you would have to back it up beforehand. :)
