Hi, I have just upgraded my PC from a really old HDD to a Samsung 850 EVO SSD today. This has drastically improved the performance of my PC. Being spurred on by this, I  downloaded the Gigabyte Smart6 application for my mother board which allows novices to easily overclock their CPUs.

I have an Intel Core i3 540 CPU which is a few years old. It has the stock Intel cooler on it. Using the Smart QuickBoost application for my PC I overclocked the CPU to 3.68 GHz with a FSB of 160 MHz. The CPUs default clock speed is 3.06 GHz and the FSB is 133 MHz.

Do you think this will be stable and OK? I have been monitoring the temps and the 2 cores seem to sit around 30C and 35C respectively when doing some light web browsing on Chrome with a few applications running in the background.

Thanks,

Brandon

I have downloaded the extreme version. What do I need to do with it? I guess it is one of the benchmarks?

Run it. If your PC crashes or oberheats your overclock has failed.
