So i just built my new PC yesterday: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/xMQvcf

The issue that i'm having is when in Windows, things will just stop responding... I was just in device manager and then boom, not responding. Everything will occasionally just lock up as well, i'll be able to move the mouse but won't actually be able to click on anything then after a few seconds it will be fine.

I'm thinking that it might be a driver issue, that they're not installed correctly or at all. I installed the drivers from the Gigabyte disc that came with my motherboard and the MSI one that came with my graphics card... Everything necessary seemed to install. When installing from the Gigabyte disc it did stop responding and i had to re-launch the disc but it just seemed to carry on from where it left off anyway. I'll admittedly say software really isn't my cup of tea. I have ran a couple of games just to try things out and it didn't have any issues.

Any way of checking too see if all the appropriate drivers are installed correctly? Or could it be something other than driver issues?

Thanks for any help!

Go to the motherboard manufactures product page and download all the latest drivers, driver disks are free coasters :-)

You can also update the board BIOS but only do this if you have a stable system or you can brick the board (yes the irony that you should not flash a board to make the system stable is not lost on me....)

Use the latest drivers from either Nvidia or AMD for the GPU (parts picker link is dead)

I would advise only installing drivers rather than all the other utilities that venders will give you  too.

If you go to Device Manager anything with a red cross next to it has no driver.
