Upgrade Time! First Water Cooling Loop

amvoith

So I recently decided that it was time to upgrade my 5+year old PC. My old specs were:

Antec Sonata Pro mid-sized tower

Antec 620W PSU

AsRock Z68M/USB3 Motherboard

Intel Core i5 2500K

8GB Corsair Vengence 1600MHz

ASUS AMD Radeon HD 6870

2 TB HDD

Needless to say this build was getting a little old and I figured it was time for an upgrade. Over the past few months, I've done a ton of research and ended up upgrading nearly everything. The only stuff that made it to my new build was my ram which I plan on upgrading to 16GB in the future.. and my 2TB HDD.

So time to dole out some cash I guess. Over a few months I purchased:

NZXT H440 Mid-Sized Tower (white)

Corsair RM750 Modular PSU

MSI Z97 SLI Krait Edition

Intel Core i5 4590

2 x EVGA Nvidia GTX 970 SC ACX 2.0 (in SLI)

2 x Samsung 850 Pro (in Raid 0)

3 x 120mm Corsair SP120 Fans

1 x 140mm Corsair AF140 Fan

And to top it off, some LED lighting because why the hell not...

And then I figured I'd try my hand at my first custom loop.

EK Supremacy MX Waterblock

2 x EK Waterblocks and backplates for the 970's

XSPC D5 Photon 170 Reservoir/Pump Combo

360mm x 30mm Magicool Slim Rad

XSPC Compression Fittings

A couple random other fittings

PrimoChill Advanced LRT Tubing (7/16 ID, 5/8 OD)

I'm very happy with how the build turned out, and I haven't had any leaks yet (phew...) Definitely was a learning experience doing my first custom loop but I feel it was worth it and had a great time doing it.

And without further adieu, Here's a few pics.

Very nice, i like the right angle turn under the graphics card. I wish there were more black/white colored motherboards.

Thats one nice build.

Yes, sadly it is only a 4590... that's got to hold me over til I can get a 4790K or something in the summer possibly.

Forgot to add that I painted the 360 rad from black to white as well as the CPU bracket and thumb screws. Just to go with the colour scheme. It was pretty cold out when I did the thumb screws though so I'll likely redo them when it gets warmer out so they look more even coated.

After booting it up yesterday I realized one of the corsair fans on the rad isn't spinning. Tried a few other headers and no go... so I'll have to return that for a new one this wknd :(

Also on my list of things to get are some CableMod Black/white cables (once they are available in Canada).
