Hi. I have lately been saveing alot of money and was in the begining just gonna build a PC for 2k but lately i realised that 3k is not that horible for the wallet.

Can anyone build a future proff. Pc for me

/Ulveen

You should follow your own topic (Button top right) or you will not see the messages people leave here when they don't include your name or quote you.

As for the pc:

X99

5820k / 5930k

SSD : 500gb

HDD : 3-4 tb

Case: To your liking

GPU: Titan X or dual 980

PSU: 700W Gold Rating

I don't know the total price of the above things, but I believe it's in the range of 2,5k

To all that would ask why I recommend X99. If you are willing to drop 3k on a pc. You expect it to perform THE BEST in any situation.

Okay, What should i spend the other 500 on? Also, Is 700 enough if i choose to upgrade to titan x sli in the future?

For some reason X99 boards don't show up for me on PCPP, so I went with Z97.

Or if you want to use only single card instead of SLI, get a Titan X, that leave you with 1000$ left. So... something like ASUS ROG Swift for monitor? Keyboard and mouse is more of a personally choice, but I can recommend the K70 RGB or Razer Black Widow Ultimate Chroma, along with Logitech G502 mouse.

Sir, a 5930k looses to a 4790k in gaming...

I would like to you look at the original post again and look for the word "gaming" or anything related to that.

My idea was that when spending 3k on a build:

- You either watercool the shit out of it.

- You need to get some production done.

And yes, I know my build is very- gaming ready with the dual 980's, but 980's are not only for gaming.

You can do so much calculations with gpu's these days :D

I also game at 2560x1440, and I don't even need 2 gpu's. 1 980 nails every game on high/ultra

When someone mentions 2k or 3k, they are talking about a resolution. Also look at his previous topics. He is working on a build for gamingv, not production.

Then why the hell do you need x99

+ Look at the bottom of  MY original post

Ands since he is gaming, a 4790k will fare much better in many situations because of it higher clock speed. (Yes I compared clock speeds because after 4 cores, gaming dosent scale and they are the same base architecture)

Lets all ripperoni in pepperoni

1. Title : 3000$ build

2. Where did I in my previous reply say he needed X99 for gaming? I assumed he is spending 3000$ on a gaming/ workstation. Otherwise Z97 + I7 + 980 = +- 2000 $

3. Correct, but you can overclock a hex- or even octa core to 4.4 easily and therefor get the same singlethreaded performance (gaming) as the stock I7- 4790K. And when needed for production he still has 4 more cores that he can utilise.

To settle this once and for all:

@Ulveen: What will you be using this pc for? Strictly gaming gaming/ work or pure work?

People are loosing conman sense lately.

I agree with that, but X99 isn't too too bad. This person should go with Z97 since the PC will mostly be used for gaming, and it can also do some production on the side. But, he could upgrade to X99 if he decides to do more production and the Titan Xs will go great with that.
