i need a laing D5 pump and i found 

EK Water Blocks EK-D5 PWM Pump but can this plug into the NZXT Grid+? or just my motherboard Asus Maximus VII Formula Intel Z97

 

 

plug it into the motherboard, mainly CPU fan header since it will give you a warning if your system fan or pump in this case fails, also it will allow for PWM control that the NZXT grid would lack.
