HELP PLEASE

Put in an overclock that was clearly too large on my new machine and now it wont boot. It turns on, the LEDs work and the fans turn, but the screen remains black. Please help!

Motherboard: MSI PC Mate z97

Hmmm.. try to remove the CMOS battery on the motherboard, wait a few minutes (10-15) then re-seat. See if that works.

What did you do?

 

Raised the multiplier too much? Just reset the bios - Either there should be a reset switch on your motherboard or just take out the battery for few mins(also disconnect all other wires from the I/O) and then just put it back in

 

If you pushed too much voltage it may be that you fried something but to be sure, just do a BIOS reset.

Put an i5-4690k at 4.5GHz with 1.070V (not enough voltage i believe), so hopeflly i didnt fry anything! Motherboard is MSI z97 PC Mate

your gonna have to pull out the battery .  try doing that . hopefully you didn't burn anything out . not realy and OC board

Surely there wasn't enough voltage going through to cause too much of a problem. Might just stick with a mild overclock then - have removed the battery for a few minutes now, will wait a little bit then put it back in. Does this reset the BIOS?
