SSD and OS Help

Hi all,

 

So i bought a BX100 120GB SSD from crucial and i want to move only the OS and the Applications but leave everything else on the HDD and keep that as a place to store my shit other than applications.

so,the best thing to do is save all the "other shit" on the hdd and install the os fresh on the SSD and reinstall the applications.

How can i reinstall the OS and delete it on the HDD

Reinstall the OS. There are some applications out there that will allow you to do that, but they are quite hard to find.

ok easy.

 

put all "other shit" on HDD in a place you will easily find it.

turn off computer.

plug out the HDD.

plug in SSD

get an operating system disk/flash drive and install operating system on SSD.

once finished

{

turn off pc again

plug in HDD and make sure the pc is set to boot from SSD and NOT HDD /

}

OR get usb to sata enclosure to hotswap the HDD into the computer whille turned on.

 

copy "some shit" to SSD if possible and completely format the HDD

 

 

 

the easier way is get a third hard drive

 

copy shit to third HDD

turn off pc

plug out old HDD

plug in SSD

turn on pc

install OS on SSD

turn off pc

plug in old HDD and third HDD

turn on pc

format old HDD

copy shit from third HDD to old HDD

done
