This might be old news to the community but I just realized that the 2.6ghz core i7 in my Macbook pro when in bootcamp windows 8.1 stays at the full 3.42ghz turbo boost frequency at all times rather than downclocking itself back down to the normal frequency it is on the mac side. Is this a glitch or is it that OSX is actually holding my hardware back that much? I found this in a combination of both CPU-Z and Intel Extreme tuning utility now the clock was a little different but only by maybe a few hundred mhz like CPU-Z would say its running at 3.39ghz and Intel would say 3.41ghz but still mostly the same result.

Is it in performance mode?

Check under power options, change plan settings, advanced settings, and then the CPU

Yes it is in performance mode I keep it that way on the bootcamp side since the only time I ever use windows on my mac is when im either gaming or doing other cpu/gpu intensive tasks for my college homework. But I never knew it would auto overclock my cpu. Hell I didnt even think you could technically overclock this cpu since its locked.
