First time overclocking and I got to 4.7Ghz with 1.25V. But the heat went a bit to high for my liking. Any ideas why? On water with Ek supremacy evo block, ek evo coolent and a 240x45 rad with 2 corsair sp120 quite editions.

Did you flush the system before filling?

What thermal compound are you using?

Yeah that's a little hot. You'll either want to try reapplying thermal paste and making sure your loop is clear and clean. If your temps are still where they are now after doing that, then you should probably turn down your clock speeds.

I actually couldn't underclock my 5 year old GPU to make it as slow as a next-gen console.

And you just so happen to have your computer with you? Or just felt like making this thread now instead of where your computer is so you can properly troubleshoot it?

just bored at work figured I'd get somthing done.

got a pic of the rig? routing, tubing, etc..

more than likely an air bubble/pocket in rad/CPU block.

what are loaded temps with no OC?

Low 30s idle mid 50s w/ load.

Its been running for about 3 weeks. Its been to LAN party's around town. But there still might be an air bubble. How do I get it out?

Rock your case in as many directions as you can and also cycle the pump on/off a bunch.

yeah I did that for a bit while leak testing it for about 8 hours. Still think there may be some air left even after this long and all the packing around I've done? What should non OC idles be? There about 32 ATM.

My girlfriends ex-girlfriend says take out the rad and tilt one end up. Then tape a "toy" to it for a few hours. Then tilt it the other way, and do the same thing.

I think this is a lot better. I cranked up the pump and tilted it all which way taped on everything and got just a few tiny bubbles to come out of the Rad. I had my sp120s hooked into the big fan hub in the back of the H440 so i took them and plugged them into the motherboard. cranked up the fan speeds and it dramatically reduced the temps. I got it to 4.9 @1.25V with temps in the high 60s low 70s. I cannot add anymore volts for some reason, i go into the BIOS and type in 1.270 and it just changes it back to 1.25 but for now im happy with my 4.8. Thanks for all the tips.
