Hello guys!

I have an asus r9 270x dc2t 2gb Gpu
A corsair graphite 230t Case with 3 built in fan
And last but not least a strange overheating problem. frown.gif

I built this computer, it's about a month old now, maybe less.
When i played ( heroes of the storm), which isn't a really demanding game, sometimes the creen turned grey and i could continue my skype conversation but there was no possible way to repair the screen except when i did a reboot.
I realised that the gpu fan was on auto, i thought maybe that's the problem so i started to use it manually. With 50 fan speed (%) the overheating problem was solved.

Today the problem reappeared. Even if i set the fan speed on 60% the game crashes and the card gets hot. In one area really, the last "4"cm before it connects to the rear part of the case.
As i mentioned everything is brand new in the pc so i don't think it's the thermal p.
The airflow is also pretty good inside the case.
Maybe the gpu tweak is ginving me wrong information?
The drivers are up to date, including the asus gpu tweak.
I've never seen my card being as hot as 70celsius or more, but when i tuch it, after the game crashes it certainly feels hot.

It's hard to monitor how hot the card is when the screen goes off :S.

Could you guys please help me with my gpu issue?smile.gif

I had that same issue I just turned my theme to windows classic whenever I play games. That didnt fix it until I unclocked it so if you have your GPU overclocked I suggest taking off the overclock and changing the theme to windows classic if that dosn't fix it then probably is cuz its overheating.

I have the same GPU!

The problem is the Asus GPU Tweak software that is to spit on the floor, never run this crap again and just use the AMD Catalyst Control Center, you will never have any problems again

PS. i love the Asus R9 270x and i think it is one of the best mid range GPU!!!

Hello guys!

I could split the screen therefore making it possible to see the game and the gpu detailts at the same time.
The results were quite strange.
The Gpu was not hot at all and from one second to another the screen became grey with white strips.
Just at the moment when i pushed the "ready" button.
So it's not overheating? What could it be?
I also checked if it was the cable, tried another hmdi, but it made no difference.

I'll try the AMD Catalyst Control Center anyway.

Also my card is not overclocked.

I'll tell you the results soon!

Thank you very much for your answers :)

I tried the AMD catalyst control, i can see that it's much more reliable than the asus gpu tweak, still the grey screen problem occures.

My GPU was 46 celsius hot when the screen went full grey.

I use the normal version never the Beta.

I used one time the Asus tweak when i first bought the card and the temp went to the sky high........ never used since then!!!

i hope you didnt damage your GPU using that software that is leting the gpu going to inadmissible temps!

I love Asus products, but this Asus Tweak.......... i really have no words!!!!!
