Ive never this error beforeso im curious, ive not even had it for an hour, pretty much only tried to install fallout new vegas and it soiled itself. Im gonna send it back tomorrow but im curious as to what or why this has happened. Also its rather hot compared to my other drives

 

ive re seated. tried another cable etc and problems happened. Second time powering on it didnt even appear on the second at all.

Maybe it had been dropped during shipping.

 

And here's a hint as to why it broke: Hitachi. :P

 

I barely trust the Hitachi TravelStar HDD in my PII laptop, but it's stupid quiet and fast other than a random disk check or something like that.

crap i thought hitachi drives were pretty good, then again if you can see the packaging it comes in any bump would kill it with death easily. 

 

From what i understand the HDD cannot track properly and the heads have to retry to locate the correct track, slowing the drive down a bit.

They have gotten a lot better over the last few years. They used to be a death sentence. 

Now you see why I don't much trust my old TravelStar.
