The only benefits to those motherboards are looks. Remember, motherboards do not have performance numbers. An Asus Z97-E would do perfectly well and do everything those boards do for the most part, unless you absolutely need a 3 or 4 card GPU setup. Wacky, unnecessary features like that is the only reason to go for those boards, besides aesthetics.

I owned the z87 sabertooth with thermal armor. It's a great board, but it has 2 small assistant fans that make a very annoying noise, and I had to unplug them.

Not sure what the airflow is like between the thermal armor and mobo without the fans.

Basically, all boards you mention are quite similar. If you like the armor, get the one you like best.

I don't think the thermal armor really does anything for the life of the mobo.
