apache and wordpress

hey guys,

 

i wanted to make a website (out of boredness)

 

after installing apache web server, i used WordPress for the page design.

 

when opening the website on the computer i am hosting it on, the page loads perfectly like this

 

but when testing it on the internet and lan it loads up like this

 

any tips and tricks on how to find out whats the problem

You've lost your CSS file. I would suggest you uploaded the .html file (usually index.html) without the resources. Is the site fully live? Could you add a link so I can take a look?

not sure how this works but wordpress uses index.php

Ok index.php is basically a more complicated .html, so you will have missed out the resources. I'll look at the site when I'm on my computer later (iPod at the moment).

Everything is set to request from htp://localhost/ rather than http://boss.forgot.his.name/ so all elemets are broken. It all appears to be live on the server though: http://boss.forgot.his.name/wp-content/themes/twentyeleven/style.css

Go through the php file and replace every reference to localhost with boss.forgot.his.name and it'll work fine.
