For some reason my front IO audio jack only plays on one side of my headphones (m40x) when i plug into it (unless i wiggle it around, only then do i get audio on both sides).

Any solutions?

Make sure you have the jack detection on and unplug everything plugged in to your front and rear panel. and plug them back in and it will pop up asking you about line in or line out etc. Maybe also check that it is connected correctly on your motherboard that it is connected as Realtek HD Audio and not AC'97. If the motherboard is connected correctly check in your bios to see if it is set to AC'97 or Realtek HD Audio. I've had the same problems before and doing all that fixed my problem

One more thing.. In the realtek control panel in the advanced settings, it might be set to mute the rear output device when a jack is plugged into the front, make sure it isnt doing that

The computer recognizes the audio jack plugged in (evident from the popout notification i get when i plug it in) However it didnt asked whether it is line in or out!

(Also issit possible for me to have 2 or more audio jacks plugged into the rear IO and work? Like i see all devices separately on playback devices)

Alright im gonna do the AC97 thingy! I've done the rest already! :D

Ah i think you've misunderstood my intention

My front IO audio jack was working fine like half a year ago (i didnt test it within this time peroid)

However after I've gotten my m40x i wanted to be able to connect it to my computer with my speakers side by side

However i realised that it was impossible to have 2 devices connected via rear IO audio jacks as the 2nd device plugged in will not appear in playback devices

So in order to solve that i have to move my headphone jack to the front IO audio

However my front IO audio only plays audio on one side of the headphone (unless i wiggle it abit then it plays audio on both sides)

I wanna find a solution for either

1. I can have both my speakers and headphones display under playback devices (in windows) with both of them connected via rear IO

or if 1. is impossible

2. I want the front IO audio jack not to have this problem whereby only one side of my audio is playing when i push in the wire fully (however if i wiggle it abit it does play audio on both sides of my headphones). This isnt a problem with my headphones as it works perfectly fine everywhere else. (I suspect that my front audio jack is busted but i wanna know whether it is software related)
