Father looking for TV

He just got a new house and is looking to fill it. He has been looking at 55 inchers with refresh rates of 240 (I assume that's for some sort of 3D).

Not worth it for 240Hz. That is just interpolation anyways. I recommend 120Hz at max for refresh rate and make sure it's native. What resolution is he looking for? Not a lot of cable/satellite companies support 4k.

Anything in-particular you're/he's looking for?

Smart? 3D? Curved or anything over 1080p?

Personally, I'm a fan of 'dumb' TVs, so that's what I would recommend looking at.

He's not particular about any features, but he does watch a lot of movies so safe to say 4K would be a good investment for the future at least. When I told him not to get a smart TV he said they were all smart TVs at the size he wants - now I'm asking you goyz.
