I was just wondering if it is worth getting a prebuilt aftermarket liquid cooler such as corsair h100i or finding a cheap custom kit. At the moment I only really want to cool the CPU but I'm a bit worried about the reliability of some of the kits you can get for quite cheap.

Any thoughts

(I haven't got a huge budget)

swift tech h220  is a good AIO if they still make them. if you're worried about reliablity get a air cooler.

If as you say, you only really want to cool the cpu, with no overclocking involved, there is absolutely no need to get an aftermarket cpu cooler, the one that comes with your cpu will do fine. if you want to overclock you don't have to go for an expensive aio cooler. There are many good air coolers on the market for alot cheaper that can support overclocking.

Aio I'd say. Check out corsair or cooler master are good reliable brands. :)

I looked and compared for hours on end and wound up getting a Raijintek Triton for my 4790k.  I felt like it was a bit of a gamble since i've never heard of them but the pros seemed to outweigh the cons.  so far I'm happy and have no complaints.
