Which GTX 970?

Go to solution Solved by CalebTheEternal,

Several companies offer a myriad of different kinds of GTX 970's

Id like to know which one/ ones are the best for water cooling and overclocking.

also is there an apples to apples comparison chart or benchmark chart anywhere?

Thanks!

EVGA since they cover EVERYTHING. Overclocking, Water cooling, anything you throw at it, it if breaks they replace it, unless there is external damage done to it.

For watercooling, EVGA is supposedly the better brand, since it's easier to find cooling blocks for it. The GTX 970 Windforce from Gigabyte should be a good overclocker, since it has 1x 8-pin and 1x 6-pin power connectors.

I found a benchmark done on some ASUS, MSI, and Gigabyte 970's, in case you wish to take a look at those: http://www.overclock.net/t/1516121/gtx-970-comparison-strix-vs-msi-gaming-vs-gigabyte-g1

EVGA you can replace thermal place and watercool without warranty, I'm not sure about others. As for OC i've heard Gigabtye G1 Gaming is pretty nice and its a great card.

The New EVGA GTX 970 FTW+ (Note the + symbol) fixes some issues with the original FTW edition and basically beefs it to have the highest out the box boost clock than any other manufacturers offer.

On top of that it has a much higher power output for overclocking (30% higher) and the fans turn off at when at idle or not under load (Strix eat your heart out). I'm buying mine this Friday.

There are in stock blocks for EVGA, MSI and Gigabyte at Perfoemancepcs and any one of those would be a great choice although i prefer Gigabyte G1 then EVGA.

I personally do not recommend EVGA after they did the most stupid thing possible and fucked up the heatsink on their card. To make occcasional design flaws is ok for me but they misaligned the heatsink and GPU which is one of the most stupid mistakes I have ever seen come from any company. If they do shit like that Idk what else they can fuck up. Gigabyte makes great quality 970s and they overclock very nicely. MSi 970s are plastic but still overclock very nicely and are still of a pretty good quality. Asus is not great for overclocking which is why I wouldnt recommend them.

Im so patriotic, I piss red white and blue. My doctor told me it was pancreatic cancer, I told him to SHUT HIS COMMIE MOUTH.
