I built an A8 build about a month ago and it worked perfectly for that month but just the other day it shut itself down and wouldn't reboot. After letting it sit for a day or so it booted into windows but powered down after only a few minutes. Now it won't even post. The monitor doesn't even flicker. I have tried swapping the power supply and the hard drive and the ram with no change. Please help me figure this out.

Its proably your motherboard. I would recommend contacting the maker of your motherboard.

Check your mount on the cpu cooler. Overheating CPUs shut themselves off.

Pull out your power supply and jump it. Let it run until it shuts down if it ever does. If it doesn't after a few minutes, the problem lies somewhere else. Perhaps a grounding issue. If you don't know how to jump a PSU, I or someone else can explain how to do it.

That is a "bad" way of determining whether a PSU is good or not, it won't have nearly (or rather none) the load it has

with all the components drawing amps from it.

All it gives you is a way to get a sense of what's going on with it no actual voltage (or noise / ripple under load) reading from it won't give you anything.

Yes, but it may also show if the power supply is kicking or not. We have no equipment to artificially stress the power supply. We can only improvise.

You could always hookup a couple of HDDs and a bunch of fans (maybe an old motherboard) to it while improvising :D .
