Hi there!

I just bought a Fractal Design R5 Black and an Asus GTX 980 Strix, and I am now looking to replace the rest of my PC with the whole shebang (a new mobo, RAM, CPU and PSU.)

I'm trying to go for a silent build with a black and white color theme, so what do you guys think of these parts for my PC:

Corsair RM850 (with White Sleeved Cables)

Asus X99-PRO

I was thinking about buying an i7-5930K but I feel that it's overkill for a gaming PC. Also, I have no idea which RAM to buy (I was thinking in the 300$ region)

Any thoughts?

X99 would be more than that. But, X99 has features most people would never take advantage of. What will you be doing?

Ryzen 7 5800X3D , Arctic Liquid Freezer  III , Gigabyte X570 Aorus Elite , Corsair Vengeance 32GB , Gigabyte RTX 5070Ti ,  WD SN850 / MP44L

Corsair RM 850x, LIAN LI Lancool 207

I figured since it's so expensive. It will be used mainly for gaming and the occasional stream

Then Z97. A 4690K with a "mid" range board  ( MSI Krait to go with your theme) are you set on getting a 980?

I am set on the 980 seeing as I already have it installed in my current PC  :D

Thank you stconquest for pointing out that 300$ extra made no difference, you just saved me a good lump of cash.

It looks like I'm going for the Z97 and a 4790K (it's on sale at my local retailer).

The tiny speck of red in the G.Skill Ram won't bother me, so I'll be going for that as well!
