Part opinion wanted

jankask

Hello, i am building a new PC and have so far picked these parts out.

I will be using the PC to music production (no sample heavy stuff)

My concerns:

Do i need to buy this cooler or will the stock cooler be fine?

Do i need more power or will 430 be sufficient?

I know i probably could go for a M-atx case but i have been using the Fractal Design R4 for many

years and the R5 seems better with nice space for cooling.

Advise on this build (within the budget) is highly appreciated!

If you never plan to overlock, this is a good system. However if you want more flexibility I would recommend a Z97 board. Also an ATX board might be a good idea, as that would allow for more PCIe expansion.

Since you have no video card, the 430 will suffice. And since you can't overlock the stock cooler should be okay.

Disclaimer : I might be wrong.

I don't think you need the r5 and yes the power is more than enough since you don't have a gpu and since you are not going to over clock the cooler is not necessary but it going to be way cooler that the stock also if you want to work with music a sound card or a mobo with better on board audio would be nice

The stock cooler is fine for your workload although it might be a bit loud. Cooling isnt a problem as you wont be doing any serious cpu intensive work

I added a cheap GPU just for some extra performance. I changed the CPU because it will be the same performance of the 4690 but cheaper. Other than that solid build.
