I wouldn't go for AMD at a budget like that. The parts that you chose are pretty decent. You can shave off some money by going for a locked i5 and an H-series motherboard if you don't care for overclocking. For around the same price, you could also go for a hyperthreaded xeon E3 and an H-series motherboard.

I would prefer the intel build. Usually at mid-high end builds I like the processing power per core over the many cores that AMD provides.

Go with the i5 4690k. I changed the RAM to 16 GB and the SSD. Otherwise you had a solid build.

8Gb of RAM is going to be alright for most casual tasks, but it is in my opinion the most underwhelming part of the build. I would cut down on the power supply (500W would be enough) and invest in a greater amount of RAM.

I would disagree with you because a 500w psu would only save ~$10. Most games do not use more than 4-5GB of RAM

Such as Skyrim? Skyrim itself is very unique as it is is heavy on CPU more than GPU

the only other game i can think of off the top of my head that does that is Minecraft

I agree with kdmb about the processor but 8GB is enough for any game unless you are doing heavy video editing.
