Has anyone on the LTT forum experienced the horrible wait times at Awaiting Texture just before joining a match ?  I have not actually been able to find a lot of information out there and I was hoping that someone on here had knowledge of how to kill these horrendous wait times... I have read that it could be the driver, that is up to the latest beta release since about 1.5 weeks ago, I should check now, This is on PC obviously, I was just hoping that someone would have insight on this problem

Thanks

Nathan

I think joining games is mainly connection based. I have never had any issues loading textures.

What graphics card do you have?

It happened to me as I played it quite a bit during the free weekends. I had a radeon 6770 back then and I could max it with 50fps. The textures would stay rubbish for 30seconds sometimes, the game is very poor on pc. Then again the is a call of duty game. We all know what means, corner cutting. Also you might of not known but the ansiotropic filter on black ops 2 for pc doesnt do anything at all. Whether its lowest or highest doesnt affect the game at all.

I think it may be my network card, I am having problems with it but it always did this, for some reason it never wanted to go fast, but my graphics card is a AMD Radeon HD 6850 decently powerful card for my budget,

I get 60fps max because that is all my monitor can display, the in game textures are fine, it is just the waiting before the matches start

Its quite a tacky feature. It should be sorted during the loading screen.

The issue is Awaiting Textures portion before the match loads, Would have anything to do with my settings ?

I have EVERYTHING set to max right now.

Alright next time I play I will look at turning some of the settings down and see what happens, Is it possible that my ISP it throttling the download ? If it is even a substantial amount of data ?

Is it only the first time a map loads? Just to save the hassle, I'd probably just turn down the texture quality or the AA (AA is the likely culprit).
