windows 7 not running games in fullscreen

Some games I own just refuse to work on full screen (battlefield 3/4 and farcry 4)
Even if I click alt+enter they stay in windowed mode.
this is driving me crazy, can someone please help? google didn't help me very much.

My setup is 3 montitors (not all are the same res) running on a EVGA GTX 780 ACX SC 
most games do work on fullscreen (skyrim, ksp, papers please, civ v. those are the games I know that work, I haven't tried more since my format)

Please help :(

Its probably because the screens arent the same reso... Try borderless?

May be because in the setting you can set each game to fullscreen. This is just an idea and example, Minecraft has it under settings/video settings/fullscreen

that is how I do it. Also F11 makes some games go fullscreen.

Ingame setting are on fullscreen but it's still windowed

press ctrl+esc when ingame and it will bring windows start menu up then click the game that needs to be full screen and see if it goes fullscreen.

tried on Farcry 4. just reverted the setting to be windowed.

Teamviewer does this with bf 3/4, and also had the same problem with some Razer's new mouse tracking software a few weeks ago
