Don't get a gheadset. buy some good headphones, and a good microphone. Gaming headsets are crap, you get crappy mics and crappy sound for the price of good sound and good mic.

Is it bad that my dream setup only costs a few thousand not counting the obutto?

I have Plantronic Gamecom 777's and they have nice audio and mic quality. They are also really durable (dropped the headset directly on the mic, twice). The newer Plantronic Gamecom 788's are also out by them, just a little more pricey.

@Padorkous

I dont edit music but from what I've read about it, you'll want a neutral headphone. Do some research on that. As for a headsets for gaming: Hyper X Cloud 1 and 2 are very good for the money and Sennheiser PC 350 is priced nicely right now. And if you dont mind having an extra cable or using a desktop mic, get a pair of headphones and pair them with a ModMic or Moov Mic or a sub $50 usb desktop mic. Going with a separate mic will open a lot of options for you

I think you should do some research before saying headset are crap. Not all headsets are crap or overpriced.

PC Audio Setup = Beyerdynamic DT 770 pro 80 ohm and Sennheiser pc37x (also for xbox) hooked up to Schiit Fulla 3

Okay fine, they might not be horrible. But for audiophile requirements, getting yourself some GOOD headphones and something like a modmic is better choice.

Most headsets besides the cloud and a few of the steelseries are bad. As a cloud owner i will say these are very good. I would get the second headset recommended in the sub $50 video and a modmic over the cloud though.

Grab some logitech G series headphones, break off the microphone (if you like), and buy a good mic by Blue or Shure. Even a shure XLR microphone can be used with an adapter to plug into 3.5mm, if you really needed to.

I agree that the ModMic or Moov Mic and a GOOD pair of headphones is a good choice. But I also know that the Hyper X Cloud is a GOOD headphone and that the various Sennhiser and Beyerdynamic headsets also have GOOD headphones, though some of those models are overpriced. And I also know that having a ModMic isnt always the better choice. Its just plain ignorant to say all headsets are bad and then post a video that talks about headsets and headphones but leaves out a lot of useful information

No.

Whatevs bro. I don't feel like dealing with this today.

I personally reccomend getting a mic, and a good pair of headphones because there is a bigger selection, its cheaper alot of the time, and if 1 breaks you don't have to replace the whole thing. If you disagree with that, whaever. I simply posted the videos because they had good options.

As much as I like previous Logitech's products I wouldn't recommend their G series headsets , my brother owned both the G230 and G430 , both of it showed cracks on the top part where you can swivel it to side and all. Also , the swivel itself feels very flimsy , I had to handle it very carefully because it really does feel flimsy. Though some of the Logitech products nowadays seem to not be on par as the long gone company. My brother and I own the same G710+ mech keyboard , most if not all of the keycaps show signs of cracks , thus some being looser than others. Luckily ours were the newer batches without the LEDs being faulty.

Lastly , I also do own a G700s which performs decently though the coating for it is awful.
