When to get Windows 10?

Seeing as we are given a year to upgrade, I would wait until the last month and do it then, gives you the most amount of time for bugs etc to be worked out before you take the plunge.

So, like the title says, when should I get it?

I don't want to experience bugs and glitches. I want it to be stable and better (offering something that windows 7 or 8 don't offer for example).

I currently have Windows 7 (ultimate edition I think).

 

So is it worth upgrading and if so. When?

When it is released and you have read enough information to know if you want it or not..

When it releases, and after some reviews have come out. While the current build is fairly stable, it's still a technical preview, so it's not a good idea to use it as your primary OS. Maybe have it on a partition or another drive to see how you like it so far/

But if it is like Windows 8 was then I'll pass ..

Windows 8 was pretty bad on release.

They'll be rolling out updates pretty quick once it's released, so stability shouldn't be an issue. 

 

The preview is pretty stable as it is, so the full release should be good.

Windows 10 will do better. Not by much just because of the OS, but DX12 will come with W10, so that should boost performance quite a lot. 

When does it come out? (DX12)

When does it come out? (DX12)

 

With the release of Win 10.

 

Personally, I put the preview on my hard-drive (opposed to the ssd) with Win 8.1 still on the ssd. Since installing the preview I haven't switched back to Win 8.1, haven't had a single crash and only a couple minor bugs.

So I should get it around November this year?

Or is it earlier?

To be honest I'm not sure if it's been officially "released" in a retail sense yet.

I would check that first tbh, but yes sometime towards the end of this year I reckon will be best.

Also you will probably find a few reminders on here and other sites towards the end of the upgrade time tbh.
