Hallllppppp!

Go to solution Solved by Frankie,

1 x CPU fan header
3 x system fan headers
1 x water cooling fan header (CPU_OPT)

Sooo i have the gigabyte ga-z87x-d3h but cant seem to find any thing that points on how many fans it supports

look at a picture of mobo?

maybe use a fan splitter instead; that way you know for sure

20 seconds with google images shows 5 fan headers on the board. If you need more then a simple fan controller will do the trick.

Find a picture of the board and count the fan headers, depending on the fans you're using each header can power up to three.

the board has 5 four pin fan headers (2 are cpu headers and are not individually controllable)

It can support as many fans as you like, it has a certain amount of PWM or 3pin connectors to control fans, if those all get used, you can get a PWM splitter or connect your fans to molex.

So the temp decides the speed?

From what I read yes, because CPU_OPT should behave like a CPU header, meaning the speed of the fans go up and down with temperature. On a chasis fan header it's controled by MOBO itself or fan curve.
