I would do content creation on it when I don't feel like doing it at my desktop or am away from my desktop.

So the cheaper Toshiba (P55W-B5112) - from Best Buy has an i7 5500U, 8GB, and 1TB HDD.

the more expensive but customized Toshiba (P50-BBT2G22) - directly from Toshiba US would have an i7 4710HQ, 16GB, 1TB SSHD and possibly an AMD Radeon M265X

* Both would have a touchscreen.

The real question is, which would I get the best performance out of my money? Of course spec wise the more expensive one might be better but is it really?

what is the price of both

The Cheaper one from Best Buy is on sale right now (but I wouldn't be buying it right now) for $799.99

The more expensive one is $1,339.98.

Cheaper one with no GPU will have much better battery life. My vote goes to it.

Also fresh install because Toshiba bloatware.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

Besides battery life are there any benefits to the cheaper one? Also I'm not 100% sure that the more expensive one has a GPU because while Toshiba list it on the page prior to customization the GPU seems to disappear after it goes to the customization page.

the cheeper one is not a bad price for a thin and light laptop/tablet but for what hardware it has it is not that grate

and the more expensive one fills a tad high

how set are you with Toshiba what other brands do you like so i can help you look

my computer beats all computers in a 1,000 NM radius

If it dissapears at customization then it might be mandatory that you get that one. I recommended the cheaper one mostly for power consumption reasons. You should also make sure to replace the hard drive with an SSD if it doesn't come with one which the base model appears to not.

Well I did find a non-customizable option which has an i7 4720HQ, 12GB, M265X, and 1TB SSHD. (P50T-BST2GX4) It's a little cheaper at $1,049.99.

I suppose not having to plug in as often is a nice thing from a laptop.

Acer support is gross. Just don't go with Acer.

Yeah, that's sort of why I wanted Toshiba. Because Lenovo is meh, HP is bulky but can look okay, Asus is sort of expensive for Windows based stuff, and yeah.

@JRuss16 @STRMfrmXMN  While the i7 5500U might save on power, the i7 4720HQ out preforms the i7 5500U by a far margin. http://www.cpubenchmark.net/compare.php?cmp[]=2448&cmp[]=2470

so i found one over on HPs site thats not too bad at a starting price at $650 and at $900 after making it about the same as the higher price one http://store.hp.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/PDPStdView?catalogId=10051&urlLangId=-1&langId=-1&productId=810153&storeId=10151

but i would say keep it at the 8GB of RAM and buy a 16GB kit off newegg or something (its cheaper that way)

That sucks that HP pairs the i7 5500U to a dGPU while it leaves the better CPU is stuck with an iGPU.

yep that is one thing i hate

So probably the other expensive one.

(P50T-BST2GX4)

Only bad part about the P50T-BST2GX4 is that it expects 3.05 hours at most.

that one looks not that bad

That's why I'm sort of biased towards Toshiba for Windows laptops is because they can look very nice and preform pretty well at a price that is more acceptable when there isn't a lot to work with.
