Ok so ive made i think 3 threads now about my 124 BSOD and currently im testing my GPU (r9 270x) in my roommates computer. and im using his 5830.

now he raised an interesting question. but ill get to that later.

1 or 2 things could happen.

1. i could  bluescreen. proving its not the gpu.

2. he could blue screen. proving it is the gpu

but then theres a 3rd option.........

3. none of us bluescreens ever.

could there be a possible incompatibility im not see'ing? maybe its not meshing with my cpu that well or maybe my MOBO?. theres a link to the parts in my system below. the only things not correct in my PC part picker link is the case and the RAM. i have 2x4 but its the exact same brand and mhz.

soo thoughts?

If you use bluescreenviewer it will usually tell you the reason for your BSOD. Try that?

Someone told Luke and Linus at CES 2017 to "Unban the legend known as Jerakl" and that's about all I've got going for me. (It didn't work)

um. derp. as i said i made three thread son my bsod..posting my DMP many a time. its the kernal and hal.dll indicateing a hardware problem. :I ive gotten no answers other then that.

what blue screen is it?

typically a bsod won't occur due to a gpu.

WELP. its an error bcc 124. and only 124. not 116 or anything gpu related....but the gpu is the newest piece of hardware. so yeah :/

Sounds like an issue I had with my 650Ti Boost SC by EVGA. I BSOD'd any time I launched a high-fps or GPU intensive game. Running a Radeon HD 6950 now, and the only issue is heat. No BSODs, not random driver failures, and no instabilities whatsoever. Nobody ever found an issue with my 650Ti in their system, but EVGA is going to RMA it in case it is at the fault of the card. Everyone elses builds were Intel while mine was AMD, that was the only major difference..

Best of luck, and following in case a fix might work for me too!

EDIT: In my situation, everything passed benchmarks with flying colors, and other GTX cards worked fine in my system. 780, 780Ti, 480, 580, and a 560Ti. Other RAM was also tried, different PSU, and different cooler. Everything but the motherboard and CPU were changed with no fix. Sorry to piggy back on your thread, @Ryouichi Kiriyami. Figured I would just share my struggle as well....

If you've started three or four threads on the matter, I'm sure someone has already suggested completely removing the drivers and doing a clean install, right?

well...see i could run furmark and use 100% gpu usage for 30 mins - 1 hour....and then i closed furmark. havnt tried valley but cant afford it currently. but my system did bsod when i was running games and not running games. but running games moreso. but it never got past 20% usage...but even when i took that thing to 100% usage in warframe it didnt bsod...its 100% random it seems.

people have speculated the PSU.

If you've started three or four threads on the matter, I'm sure someone has already suggested completely removing the drivers and doing a clean install, right?

lemme get the list....

My Big ol fuckin check list of 124 error diagnosing.

FAIL 1. Stress tested GPU in furmark @ 4k resolution for 30 mins. (No Errors)

FAIL 2. Torture tested my CPU. for 30 mins ( No Errors)

FAIL 3. Re-installed GPU drivers.

FAIL 4. Ran Memtest for for 3 passes. no errors.

FAIL 5. Replaced RAM with new sticks.

FAIL 6. Updated Bios

FAIL 7. Updated windows.

FAIL 8. Switched out motherboard+Updated those bios

FAIL 9. Switched out my 1 TB HDD (Windows installation was on a 80GB drive)

FAIL 10. Ran sfc /scannow. was 2 errors + ChkDsk on windows HDD.(No Errors)

FAIL 11. Reinstalled windows on different 80gb HDD

FAIL 12. Underclock my r9 270x

PENDING 13. Switch out my r9 270x with the 5830

(NEXT IN LINE FOR TESTING)

Turn down/up the voltage to my CPU

Switch out fx 8320 for 1055T

Switch out 750w PSU for another one.

@MblaZe7run

thats perfectly fine. im sure others want to know....

Yeah, PSU was speculated by a 20+ year veteran tech I know. It wasn't my issue, but his main concern for me was that my PSU doesn't turn on the fan until it must. Corsair AX860i (overkill, I know. Planned on having 2-way SLI when I put this rig together, PSU was purchased before the video cards, and then I needed to delegate money to my family for an emergency. Left me with a low end GPU instead of two 680s).

i tested my psu with a multimeter....its giving out the right voltages >> and its excessive. its a 750w when i need only a 550w.

also hate that shit from corsair. im not one to care about silence. i want my shyt to stay cool and live longer. ya know :P?

I love it. Silence is my favorite part. :D I turn the fan on any time I plan to do anything intensive. It's the entire reason I bought the PSU I did. If you need to test with another PSU in the case that you don't have a spare, I have one I can lend out, 550W EVGA 80+Bronze.

Or maybe you two could share those links in case someone Googles in the future for the same problem and comes here... At least share which one fixes the problem...
