Hey guys I was looking to get some imput on the shield tablet. I been wanting to get a tablet for awhile and I would love to get this one because I love gaming and Nivida products. I just wanted to hear what people think about the tablet and what is good about it. Also how is the UI and software on it.

I've had mine for just about as long as it's been out and overall I've been happy with it.  The software they bundle with it like Shield Hub and such are nice and give you a very good idea of what native games are available for it.  I haven't done much game-streaming from my PC as I haven't had a need for it, but I did try it out once when I first got it playing Resident Evil 4 with the Shield Controller and it seemed responsive and looked great (using a Netgear Nighthawk R7000 as an access point in the same room hooked up via gigabit ethernet to the rest of the network).  I mainly use it for emulators, and even found myself streaming to Twitch from the tablet playing some Super Turbo.  Worked very well though as you can imagine doing all of that at once will go through your battery pretty quick.

A few gripes though...when I first purchased it I got the WiFi version and had the infamous cracking corners issue where the corners would begin to crack and sometimes separate from the rest of the tablet due to the heat output and bad materials used on the initial run.  They replaced it without hassle and even upgraded me to the LTE 32gig version for no extra cost.  I have noticed a very minor crack near the sim card slot, though it's not bad enough where I would concern myself with it.  Another gripe was the performance loss when I upgraded it to Lolipop android, not really Nvidia's fault but it seems like it likes to hang quite a bit as it catches up with notifications that arrive when I'm away.

Overall, I would still recommend it for the Nvidia specific features if  you are already in, or plan on investing into the Nvidia ecosystem as like Apple (I can't believe I'm making this comparison...), if you're in their walled garden and drink their kool-aid, then it's a very nice experience, but if you go with varying hardware such as an AMD graphics card then you're going to miss out on some of the features.
