Hi,

Wondering if anyone can Help! please,

My Grandson's (10year old) HP Laptop has a Problem, i've tried all sorts of things to solve it but can't  I have improved it a tiny bit,

What it is....is...

When I press the Start button and it opens up to show- search programs and files- >All programs  and recently used programs

Its flashing/highlighting what's on there from bottom to top constantly and if i try to click one of them i miss and it open another from that list

while its rotating through them (hard to explain) It does this when in all program too,

If i miss the progarm i'm trying to open and another one opens on the desktop the OK -  Cancel buttons flash from one to the other

Its like a Ghost has it's Bony finger on the up/down Left/right keys  :o .....Heeeelp!

Once or twice If i hit either the Ctrl - End - Esc keys it stalls it for a bit  but then it starts up again,

It has no Malware on Malwarebytes+camelion and other tools I've put on has seen to that, No viruses,

Anyone seen this before or knows how to sort it....Before i take a Sledge hammer to it  Please?

Thank you in advance for help and info Ladies and Gents  :)

it might be your mouse or usb port try a different mouse

But i kind of feel sorry for your grandson 10 year old lap top makes me sad

retro is cool to look at but not to use on a normal basis.  I would recommend a new laptop.

Thank you,

It's not the laptop that's 10 years old..My Grandson is 10,

Not using a mouse I'm using the touch pad,

Thank you again Sir,

Thank you again Sir,

you may have a bad touch pad you can try calibrating it in the mouse settings also make sure there's nothing stuck to the pad you can clean it with a little water on a rag
