Ok now I am a sucker for looks. I have found the Satechi® Computer RGB LED Light Strip http://amzn.to/1BL7qK7 and would like to mount them in an NZXT H440 case. But my main question is where would I put the sensor, and or are there better products for this?

I always recommend the BitFenix Alchemy strips or the NZXT Hue, but you'll have to do some modding to get the Hue in there. I can't say much about the LED's you've picked.

The images shown don't really portray a knack for cable management so it's hard to tell, I'd personally hide it at the back of the system as my case supports it, but given that I don't have the space, I'd probably put it neatly on top the PSU

Or, you can do what I did, and cut These and fit them accordingly, you should know how to solder things if you decide to do it like that

I've bought the NZXT Hue for 2 builds this past year and love it.  The LED strip is long enough to go around the entire inner circumference of my very large Corsair 760T cases, and the controller is easy to hook up and mount in an available 5¼ bay.  One NOTE:  The LED strip that connects to the controller can be plugged in backwards and your lights will not show up the blues (white lights).  IF that happens, reverse the connector.  No biggie.

Lastly, the sticky side of the LED strip is not really strong enough for connecting along the top of the case (it will fall off), so in both my builds I added some glue to the strip (rubber cement one time and super glue the 2nd time) and the strips hangs permanently.

My case doesn't have a spot for that though.

Ya the best thing I have found is this http://amzn.to/1BL7qK7 due to all the things you can do with it.

The LEDs I got work perfectly, and really do the job. I have these

http://www.amazon.com/Sylvania-72344-Mosaic-Flexible-Light/dp/B008COVFUA/ref=sr_1_39?s=hi&ie=UTF8&qid=1426623890&sr=1-39&keywords=LED+kit

and to simply plug it in, I got a DC Barrell Plug to Molex Cable for it and boom. It has a cool remote, it remembers what color and setting it was on after turning it off. Turns on and off with my computer, I couldn't be happier, much better option than a $35 solution from another manufacturer.

I would recommend getting these

Here's the plug from a couple different places
