I just recently bought a USB 3.0 to gigabit ethernet adapter for my retina Macbook Pro... it doesnt have a port of its own. The wifi in my home is unreliable at times, so ive been looking around the web for something like this. The Amazon page said it had support for OSX 10+, so I bought it. Apple initially wanted me to buy their mini-dp to ethernet adapter but i had none of that bs. 30 dollars for a 3" cable? nah m8. Anyways, my package arrived and I tested the thing out, and it didnt register. So, I looked through the rest of the box and found a driver disc... it looked like an old PS-vita disc and I was cornfused. Attached is a picture of the disc and my question was whether it would be accepted into a normal disc reader? The hole in the center seems a little smaller than normal too.

Most optical drives will support it. There should be a smaller, internal holder (indent, ring, circle w/e) that the small disk will fit into.

does anyone have experience using this with an external apple disc reader? the ports on this laptop are almost as bad as their new one lol

If its a slot loading drive it might cause issues when ejecting. I would seriously recommend connecting via wifi (however bad) and downloading the drivers from the net.
