Good Reliable PSU?

Go to solution Solved by FruitBasketSilex,

I am about to do it now, but I read on Corsair forum that people who RMA their PSU, most of them ended up with the same problem. Moreover, the RMA takes 10 days. That means I am out of a computer for 10 days. This computer is not only for gaming, but for school as well.

I would still do it. As long as you have a laptop or something for your schoolwork. The PSU is high quality, and your item was just a fluke. And people are more likely to say something bad about a product before they say something good about it.

As for gaming, shit, I love gaming. Sold my Alienware laptop about 6months ago and have barely played games since then and am doing just fine. A bit bored, but fine. Only need to go on for like two more weeks or so before I am up and gaming on my new build.

EDIT: ACK, NEW, NOT JEW!

Are there any good reliable PSU that is somewhat reasonably priced? I am really tight on money right now and I do not have a lot to spare. The current PSU I have is the Corsair HX 1050W PSU. Corsair PSU are garbage. This is my second one so far the first one was the HX 750W and that failed on me and now the 1050W is failing to deliver enough juice that anytime that I do intensive gaming, or benchmarking that my FPS drops to like 5 FPS.

Please help, thank you!

I love my Corsair AX1200i. It performed, and still performs, like no other PSU I've ever had. anyways, If you are on a budget, EVGA.

No worries mate. That's a reasonable budget. If you'd said $40 however, we might've encourage you to spend a tad more to get a quality unit, but yeah, $120 is a pretty decent budget in my opinion. :)

The problem is not the wattage itself but the PSU. I have tried my brother Cooler Master V750 and that works fine.

If there is one piece of advice I can give, and this may be obvious, never cheap out on your PC's PSU as you'll come to regret it later.

Why not tell corsair your PSU was faulty as it clearly was not the wattage that was the problem.

No worries! :)

Well, from things I've seen and read, Corsair isn't the most reliable brand to go with. I'd recommend going with either EVGA or SeasSonic. They're both good and reliable brands from what I've come to understand. :)

I would still do it. As long as you have a laptop or something for your schoolwork. The PSU is high quality, and your item was just a fluke. And people are more likely to say something bad about a product before they say something good about it.

I will RMA my PSU and see how Corsair respond to it, then I will proceed from there.

Thank you for help!

We love to help. Also, the customer support from them is pretty good. I broke a hard drive sled and lost my screws, called corsair, dude gave me the product codes for both and ran me through how to setup an RMA so I could go through their system and they could just ship me the bits. They're on their way right now. Even though it was my fault.
