System doesn't boot/ Windows can't be reinstaled?

Hi guys,

(sorry for language-mistakes, I'm no native-speaker)

[facepalm introduction]

I just finished building my first pc, installed windows and had it properly running until I instaled some programs. One of those was windows network...something...well after that I had to restart the pc so that everything could be updated. Since I use my tv as a monitor and it sometimes looses the videosignal I suddenly hat no view on the installation-screen and so out of frustration I pressed the reset-button on my frontpanel.

[facepalm introduction end/ problem starts]

The Updating-process seems to have been disturbed and some files were damaged/deleted. One of which is the bootfile.

As advised on the failure-screen I put in the windows-install-disc and rebooted the system which worked.

But I neither can repair nor reinstall windows since the harddisc is somehow locked. And I'm supposed to unlock the thing... and I don't know how.

Do you know or could you help me?

I also have no previous-installation-images which I could use to repair or start from...

greetings

Try going into your bios,

go to boot devices

and switch from Cd to hard disk

Or boot from the CD and format the drive? If the boot files is corrupted he will not be able to boot from the HDD (if it is those boot files)
