RAM question

so if I run 2 different brands of Ram would they be usable? like would speed difference affect anything?

They would work yes, speed will be lost if you used two different speeds. correct me if im wrong.

On a serious note you can run 2 different brands of ram in a pc.  Also the ram by default would run at the lowest speed/settings of a stick if they are different.

Thank you! But what do you mean by default? can I configure it so all RAM runs at its maximum speed that the can?

It will probably work fine, but as the people above said: your sticks will run at the lowest frequency of both sticks (the faster stick will run at the frequency of the inferior clocked stick).

This, you can't max them out because they'll probs be at different clocks and also if you tinker with the timings. Which are not fun times. 

 

Different brands don't seem to do much, but just try to keep the rest of the specs together.
